Tithing

I noticed a few messages here about tithing not being for today
because it is under the law. Since Christ died on the cross we are
no longer under the law so we do not need to tithe. Tithing was
in effect before the law ( Genesis 14:20) Since it was before the
law how could it be nullified by Christ's death?
