Tetragrammaton (Tattoo?)

I was hoping to get a Jewish point of view on possibly getting a tattoo of the Tetragrammaton. I know tattoing & branding was used in OT times to show a slave's ownership, and in that context I thought it
might be a good way to show who I serve. I'm not very familiar with Jewish law concerning the writing of The Name. Would this be inappropriate and/or offensive?
