Passover 2005 message

As the Jewish people welcome Passover the Festival of Freedom this coming Saturday evening, I can’t help but think about Israel’s children, who are suffering more than ever before.

Almost 30 percent of Israeli families live below the poverty line … and one-third of these desperately poor people are children. In Jerusalem, God’s holy city, half the children live in poverty.

Many of these youngsters are immigrants who fled with their families from countries of persecution. Others are orphans. All of them are hungry.

And they need your help.
