You are correct. But all - even faithful disciples are not perfect and evil doers til the day they die because no one is without sin in this mortal life.
So what qualifies one for going to heaven?
Recall that the bible teaches that those who trust alone in Christ alone unto eternal life receive the gift of eternal life. It is also taught that these individuals alone will receive a perfect nature after they die, no longer capable of doing evil as they were in their mortal lives. Hence they will enter heaven.
You have misinterpreted Mt 7:21, notice that the deeds done were miraculous even to the extent of casting out demons, yet these deeds were classified as evil?? How come?
Because any deeds done, even in the name of the Lord, even miracles and casting out demons BY UNBELIEVERS is evil because it is done in order to have a relationship with the LORD.
But faith alone in Christ alone is the only way that will happen. To try to do good deeds in order to go to heaven is evil, no matter how miraculous. So reread your Matthew chapter 7 and discover what it really says:
