As much as I do agree there is concern for this, it has been known about for about 50 years. I remember reading about it when I was just a teenager. The fear was that ALL electronic devices would cease to operate ( cars included ). My understanding is that the US discovered it by accident after a nuclear test and nearby electronic instruments ceased working.
